Is this a bio? Or is it a resume? Either way, here it goes:
My name is Kathy Drasky, Editor-in-Chief of KazzaDrask Media. I have produced millions of words of copy for print, online and digital sources. I have 25 years experience as a writer and editor across the varied disciplines of publishing, journalism, PR and marketing. I was a pioneer in the desktop publishing industry, an original contributor to some of the first online publications and an early adopter of social media. At every phase of my career I have been part of the digital media revolution.

The best way to see if you like the way I write is to read the posts on my website - which you can probably tell started out as a blog. Here you'll see stories I followed and covered for various clients as well as lot of the coverage on how online culture is transforming the way we live, work, play - and think.
I'm currently working on scanning in some "vintage" pieces I wrote back in the 1980s and 1990s, many of which never appeared online or are no longer available. I think these will make you at least smile - if not downright LOL. While I consider myself lucky to have maintained a full-time freelance business since 1992, first as K. Drasky Editorial (1992-2007) and then as KazzaDrask Media (2007 - present), there were certainly times when things got tough and I supplemented my editing and writing career with odd jobs. I answered phones at a mental hospital, waited tables at a gay bar and worked for two private investigators. This extracurricular work experience has given me my edge.
I also take digital photos. Most of these end up on client's websites. Some have have appeared in magazines like 7x7 and newspapers like the San Francisco Chronicle.
I am based in San Francisco, California and married to an Australian - which is why I get to travel Down Under a couple of times a year. I have turned these trips into an exploration of the cultural differences - and similarities - between our two countries. Having done a bit of writing about the 2010 Australian election for Prime Minister, I took the liberty in 2012 to make fun of her missing shoe.
Education: B.A. English, Western Connecticut State University (1984); A.A. Communications, Norwalk Community College (1981).
